Petrokem Epoxy Marine Paint

Petrokem Epoxy Marine Paint is a high-performance, two-component epoxy-based anti-corrosive coating, developed and manufactured by Petrokem since 1989, for reliable industrial and marine steel protection.

Petrokem Epoxy Marine Paint

Petrokem Epoxy Marine Paint is a high quality two-component epoxy coating developed to meet the growing demand for durable, high-performance anticorrosive coating systems. It is specially formulated for use in corrosive industrial and coastal environments, providing long-term protection against corrosion and environmental degradation. The coating is primarily recommended as an anticorrosive protective coating for metal structures, pipelines, bridges, offshore structures, radial gates, storage tanks, ships, fiberglass components, wooden boats, and other industrial installations including chemical plants, beverage factories, and oil facilities. It may also be applied on concrete floors and other structural surfaces where moisture and chemical resistance are required. The coating is suitable for low to moderate corrosive environments (C1 and C2) and when applied in combination with an appropriate Petrokem epoxy primer, the system can perform in more demanding corrosive environments such as C3 and C4. The product is also suitable for use on swimming pools, ponds, and concrete or cement water tanks as a protective coating. Once fully cured, the coating provides excellent resistance to sea spray, moisture, abrasion, and other corrosive environmental elements while delivering a durable and professional finish on properly prepared metal, concrete, fiberglass, and wood surfaces.

  • Mix thoroughly equal volumes of Petrokem Epoxy Marine Paint resin and hardener. Five minutes of thorough mixing is recommended. If too thick for the application use Petrokem Epoxy Thinner 221 to thin the product. Use the mixture within 45-60 Mins. Note: larger volumes of mixture will lead to lower working times (lower pot life).
  • Apply the mixture to the surface by using a suitable spray equipment (at 40-60psi) or brush /roller. The paint could be applied to the bare metal or use Petrokem Epoxy Iron Oxide Primer, 3Dot® 2K Auto Primer or any recommended Petrokem epoxy primer as the prime coat and then apply Petrokem Epoxy Marine Paint as the second coat for best protection against corrosion. Allow the paint to dry at least for 24 hrs before using the surface. A second coat could be applied after 8 hrs if required to maintain inter-coat adhesion. The coating will gain its full toughness in 72 hrs. Petrokem recommends using any suitable Petrokem epoxy primer when the environment is aggressive and requires maximum corrosion protection, when a specific DFT must be achieved, or when part of a consultant-specified multi-coat protective system.

  • Approximately 8 – 10 m² per 1 litre pack
