Petrokem WaterGuard UWG40®
Petrokem WaterGuard UWG40® is a high quality two component epoxy system specially developed to be used in submerged conditions for horizontal surfaces. The Product is specially designed to be used in underwater conditions to fill tile grooves (as a tile grout) and is recommended to grout granite, marble, ceramic, porcelain, terrazzo, mosaic, natural stone tiles or other similar tiles. The advantage of the product is the ability to carry out the grouting process in submerged conditions without draining the existing water. The product should be used as a two component application by mixing the resin and hardener components. An adequate amount of Filler D® could be added to the mixture to obtain the required viscosity or thickness. The dried product is a chemical resistant, waterproof, hard, Ceramic like product, suitable for interior and exterior applications and is recommended to be used in grouting of swimming pools, shower areas, ponds and other water retaining structures. The product can be used for drinking water tanks. Leaking water retaining structures can be waterproofed and repaired using the product without draining the existing water.
- Mix thoroughly 2 volumes of Petrokem Water guard UWG40® Resin and 1 volume of Petrokem Water Guard UWG40® Hardener in a suitable clean container. Five minutes of thorough mixing is recommended. Then gradually add required quantity of Filler D® (if Required) and mix thoroughly to obtain a paste of smooth consistency. Mixing should be slow to avoid air entraining. The mixed material is now ready to use and the pot life is approximately 20 - 30 minutes.
- Dive (use suitable diving equipment) down to the bottom for the application. Then pour the mixed material directly on to the floor. Use a suitable rubber wiper and spread the material over selected area ensuring the tile grout penetrates/fills the tile grooves. Remove excess tile grout from the tile surface immediately with a scraper or spatula before the tile grout is hardened (before 20 mins). Then sand with water sand paper P100 to further remove balance tile grout from the tile surface. Use a sharp blade or knife to cut uneven tile grout if needed.
