Alfa Series Petrocover® 240
Petrokem PetroCover® 240 is a high build two component non-toxic epoxy paint developed to meet the increasing demand for high quality anticorrosive painting systems and is specially designed for highly corrosive industrial and coastal environments. It is recommended as an anticorrosive and decorative coating for the protection and maintenance of metal structures, concrete floors, ships, fiber glass, wooden boats, metal pipelines, bridges, off shore structures, radial gates, chemical plants, beverage factories, oil installations, storage tanks & house hold applications etc. The product is also recommended for swimming pools, ponds, concrete and cement water tanks etc as a decorative protective coating. The product once fully cured is resistant to salty sea spray, abrasion and other highly corrosive elements. The product will protect and decorate all metal, wood, concrete, cement, Fiberglas and many more surfaces.
- Mix thoroughly 2 volumes of Petrokem PetroCover® 240 Base and 1 volume Activator. Five minutes of thorough mixing is recommended. If too thick for the application use Petrokem Epoxy Thinner 221 to thin the product. (Adding too much thinner will reduce the film thickness, Curing will also be slow) (Refer the DFT / Spreading Rate / Dilution Ratio Chart) Thinner should be added after the mixing of the 2 components. Let the mixture sit for approx 5 -10 minutes before application (Induction Time). Use the mixture within 1 hour.
- Apply the mixture to the surface by using a suitable equipment (Spray/brush/roller). The paint could be applied to the bare metal or Use PetroPrime® 100 as the primer coat and then apply Petrokem PetroCover® 240 as the second coat for best protection against corrosion. Allow the paint to dry approx 8 hrs and apply another coat if required. Allow the paint to dry for at least 24 hrs before use. The coating will gain its full toughness in 72 hrs. If required apply a coat of C-Guard 353 water base anticorrosive paint for UV resistant Matt finish.
