Petrokem SL® Epoxy Flooring System
Petrokem SL® Epoxy Flooring System is a high quality two component, self levelling epoxy flooring system specially developed to meet the increasing demand for high performance, chemical resistant, dustless, jointless flooring systems. The Petrokem SL® Epoxy Flooring System is used when traditional flooring systems are not suitable and fail due to their inherent weaknesses as floor coverings. The flooring system is recommended for hospitals, factories, beverage bottling plants, garment industries and for places where chemical resistant, dustless, jointless and high performance flooring is required.
- Prime the surface with Petrokem SL® Epoxy Flooring Primer. Application rate will be approximately 12 – 16 sqm per 2L pack. Allow to dry only for 24 hours. If dried for more than 24 hours, the effectiveness of the primer will fade away.
- Mix thoroughly Petrokem Petrokem SL® Epoxy Flooring resin component (10.075kg) and hardener component (2.425kg). 5 minutes of thorough mixing is recommended.
- Do not leave the mixed material for more than 10 minutes in the mixing container.
- Spread the mixed quantity (12.5 kg) over an area of 4.0 – 4.5 sqm evenly to a depth of 2mm using a notched trowel. After 5 minutes of laying, apply vigorously a spiked roller to remove air bubbles. Repeat application of spiked roller until all air bubbles are ceased. The spiked roller should extend in to the previously applied section but ensure that the previously applied material has not hardened to such a degree that there will be spiked roller marks. Spiked roller can be used approximately for 30 – 45 minutes at a room temperature of 300C. Demarcate the floor in 4 sqm sections and work in the marked sections at a time and continue the floor laying process until the full area is covered.
- Approximately 4.0 – 4.5 sqm per 12.5 kg pack at an avg. thickness of 2mm.
